Real Centre Network (RCN) is an authorised provider of CPD courses in Singapore for real estate salespersons to stay updated on the knowledge and skills required to succeed in the industry.
From 1 Oct 2019 (i.e. the 2019-2020 CPD cycle) onwards, Key Executive Officers (KEOs), practising directors/partners and salespersons are required to fulfil a total of six credits under the new CPD framework. Moreover, four of these credits must be from courses related to Professional Competencies and two credits must be from courses related to Generic Competencies.
Practising real estate salespersons are required to attend CPD courses under Generic Competencies to fulfil the CPD requirement. Credits under Generic Competencies cannot be substituted by credits obtained under Professional Competencies. This is to ensure that salespersons also focus on developing their competencies in other essential areas not directly related to their professional knowledge, such as service, leadership and digital literacy.
Fulfilling CPD hours is also a renewal licensing/registration condition stipulated in the Estate Agents (Licensing and Registration) Regulations 2010. Failure to comply will affect their registration and may lead to removal from the Public Register.
The CPD requirement is to ensure that KEOs and Salespersons are equipped with the necessary professional knowledge in estate agency work. It also helps in continuously upgrading themselves by keeping abreast of the latest changes in Government policies and procedures for property transactions. CEA places an important emphasis on core subjects as this helps improve the professional effectiveness of KEOs and salespersons.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is a key component of the CEA’s regulatory framework for achieving higher professional standards in the real estate industry. The goal of the mandatory CPD framework is to ensure that KEOs and salespersons are highly capable in carrying out their duties effectively. Additionally, it is vital that KEOs and salespersons are up to date with their knowledge and skills on the industry and its regulatory developments.
Therefore, when enrolling in a CPD course, it is essential it is an approved provider by the CEA. Online learning or eLearning is also applicable for CPD courses.
In the existing CPD structure, each Key Executive Officer (KEO), active directors/partners, and salespersons must attain a minimum of six CPD credits in each CPD cycle. These six credits should consist of four credits from courses focusing on Professional Competencies and two credits from courses addressing Generic Competencies. Know that additional mandatory courses could be introduced in the future.

Recognising the time constraints faced by real estate salespersons, RCN acknowledges the challenge of attending in-person CPD classes. To address this, we offer online CPD courses, allowing participants to fulfil their required credits remotely and at a time that aligns with their schedules. This is an online CPD training course. This course seeks to equip Estate Agents and Salespersons with knowledge of the clear standards and guidelines ensuring that they render their services competently, professionally and ethically.
The course will cover all the information in the Professional Service Manual and discuss the common scenarios faced by the salesperson. After attending the online training session, the salesperson should be well versed in their responsibilities and know what they should do in order to competently conduct their estate agency work with professionalism.
